Good Times Fail Times

Right, its been a while. The title says it all. A lot of things have happened in between. Lots of wins and lots of fails.
Biggest fail has been the MNopqrS and the Social Studies guys. Acting like real cynics. Same old “Mind Your Language” and “Mind your own business” lines and questioning an ego-less film actor’s patriotism. Wonder why they needed such acts to come back to the limelight when the V-Day, the anti-Indian culture day, is so near. They must ve sensed that attacking stupid cupids was not going to help much because they foresaw what our moral police dept’s top cop for Karnataka got.
Hashtags on twitter are so fail these days. Atleast some of them were There was an #iconicIndianAds tag that was doing the rounds the other day. It felt nice to read all the tweets about good old ads which we all used to enjoy as kids. Later, it got really bad. All the ads that have been around on Indian television were tweeted as Iconic. I m sure somebody even tweeted the Docomo ad as Iconic.
Talking of hashtags, another fail tag IMHO was the #indiansongs. Like someone mentioned, people tweeted songs and there was a tweet one, get an RT free offer. Just to make it trend. And the timeline was filled with all songs like “Jingu chaa, Jingu chaa, Pacha colouru Jingu chaa”. Like we say in Tamil. EKSI?
The best hashtag of recent times however was #MyNameIs. There were a lot of good tweets. I can up with a few of my own.
- #MyNameIs Shiney Ahuja and I am baisexual
- #MyNameIs Arindam Choudhari and I dared to think beyond kindergarten because I started IIPM
- Beeda : #MyNameIs Paan
- And here is a blog special: Blue Film : #MyNameIs Porn
Sticking to the New Year resolutions is a very tough thing to do. So far, I ve stuck to 3 of them religiously. Guitaring, Reading and exploring new bands. Finished reading Fountainhead finally. I had read about 90 pages back in college. The way I kept getting busy after reading about 400 pages made me wonder if I ll be able to complete it this time around. If not, this post may have been titled “The Curse of the Fountainhead”.
Another book I read was “Everything has a Purpose” by @sudhamshu. A very short novel with a message on Tiger and Wildlife Conservation. You can download the PDF from the link above. There is a Save Tigers campaign happening these days. IMO the motive is good, but the commercial interests of such a campaign by a Cellular Service Provider is very apparent.
Been tripping on a lot of Led Zepp lately. Also came across this Israeli band named Orphaned Land. If you like progressive music, do give them a try.
Before I forget, Facebook has undergone a change.(for the 10^infinity-eth time).
And we have a new Buzz in town. I think this beats the MNopqrS and social studies group by a whisker to take the cake for the #fail of the month.
