Security Fail

Everyone raises a cry about how security SHOULD have been tight at public places soon after a terrorist strike happens. After a few days, we get USED TO IT as Mr Naseeruddin Shah put it in the movie, “A Wednesday”. On a Thursday, this report appeared in the newspaper about a drill exposing the chinks in the security at some popular Mall in Gurgaon. I am probably sure that this issue will also go under the wraps in a few days.

I ve always wondered about this. Even at malls where they frisk the visitors at the entrance, females go unfrisked. At max, their bags are checked and that too, maybe the smallest pocket! Why cant they be frisked like at airports inside a closed space?

Just like terrorists have no religion, as they always say when a strike happens, terrorists have no gender either! Remember that Rajiv Gandhi was blown up a female human bomb by the name Tanu aka Thenmozhi

I really don’t think frisking women would reduce the risk. I mean, when they frisk you and find a bump in your pocket or something, they assume it’s the mobile phone and let you go. That mobile phone could very well be a bomb. It’s all #FAIL anyway.

Frisking is the least they can do. Forget about Metal detectors. Some guy walked into the CST with a pistol in his pocket a couple of days after the strike and the detectors failed to detect it!

Women get frisked at the airport. 🙂 And trust me, it’s not pleasant.

A slightly wrong word there I guess. Now I changed it from “AS at airports to LIKE at airports”.

It doesnt matter if its pleasant or not. Trust me, it wont be pleasant when you re blown up into pieces by a bomb. 😐

Security… thats an important issue right now aint it? Well, the point that you should frisk each and every individual that enters say a mall may not be the way to stop any sort of incident that these people term as terrorism. I think the reason behind such an act should be questioned in the first place. You’ve mentioned the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi here. My question to all you patriotic i-am-a-good-citizen is have you ever seen that incident from martyr Tanu’s point of view? So, the thousands who have given their lives for many causes that go unheard. To be blown up is certainly not pleasant, but imagining spending weeks in many cases months knowing that you’ll die on this day at this time.

Firstly, this post was not aimed at blaming slack security as the only reason for Terrorism. There are a million other reasons for it.

Secondly, the example of Tanu was just to point out how one cannot assume that women cannot be terrorists or human bombs.

I think this post didnt express what I wanted to put across. All I wanted to say was the flaws in what these people call as very safe places. And if one read the reply I made to Ishmeet’s comment, FRISKING IS THE LEAST THEY CAN DO. These kinds of acts at public places need not be done by terrorists alone. It can be done by someone who is mentally unstable as well.

Serious issues like Terrorism, its objectives, minority causes etc are not my cups of tea. I would rather write about all the #fails and #WTFs in my life rather than write a post like this and create confusions…Cheers. 🙂

Dude, I went for a movie and though i got frisked thoroughly (read: got felt up) the girl who came with me was also put through the scanner. But the dumb of the highest order female security puts the metal detector against the girl’s boobs and just lets her go. I mean, come on! What if the girl has a dynamite stuffed in her ass or something, you know?

P.S.: I am hoping, praying and calling out all the Gods that exist in this universe and any other parallel universes to not let the girl who came with me read this comment! 😛
