Eggjperimental Biriyani

This afternoon, I ended up being the only guy eating at home and the maid decided that I was going to eat only the curry. I ended up having to boil rice and while at that, I saw what was there in the fridge. Two Eggs! And some brand’s chicken curry mix. The creative juices flowed and I decided to experiment a bit. And the result was something which tasted like Chicken Biriyani, but with egg instead of chicken in it. Well, how does it matter if you eat the father or the kid when it’s meant to be eaten anyway?

Anyway, here goes the Recipe and the cooking instructions. I am from the “hand” measurement school of cooking, so I won’t say add these many teaspoons of this and blah blah blah

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add finely chopped onions(1 onion of medium size) and a bit of ginger garlic paste. Saute till the onions become transparent.
  • Add some of chicken curry mix.(Use any brand. DO NOT use one of those sad butter chicken mix they sell. It is sweet and tastes awful). Fry for a while till the oil pops out of the mix.
  • Add salt to taste
  • In a bowl, beat a couple of eggs with some cream. Pour it in to the pan and mix well. When the eggs are cooked and still watery, add the boiled rice to it. This ensures that the eggs stick to the rice and the flavours stick to the rice as well.

There you go. You have successfully made chickenless chicken biriyani. I would have loved to have some shredded chicken in there, but it tasted yummy nonetheless.

PS : If you think this post is a health hazard, I am living proof that nothing happens if you eat this preparation.
